Health Department May Withhold Prisoner’s Medical Records from Virginia Sheriff
Virginia’s Attorney General has opined that under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, §2.1-342 (b) (3) medical records held by the local health department may be withheld from the sheriff who is seeking “confidential health information” on a prisoner. See: 1987 Va. AG Lexis 181
