$5,000 Settlement for Harmful Treatment at CCA Tennessee Prison
$5,000 Settlement for Harmful Treatment at CCA Tennessee Prison
by David M. Reutter
Corrections Corporation of America paid $5,000 to settle a lawsuit claiming it caused harm to Silverdale Detention Center prisoner Angela Mooney.
The July 30, 2009 settlement agreement does not detail the total factual scenario, but states that the settlement was for “treatment she received from Defendants during that period of incarceration.“ Mooney was represented by attorney John C. Cavett, Jr. See: Mooney v. Corrections Corporation of America, General Sessions Court of Hamilton County (Tenn.), Case No. 08GS 14480.
